MQ Silicone Introduction

MQ silicone resin is a relatively unique structure of silicone resin, is a four-functional siloxane chain (SiO4/2,Q) containing silicone compounds and silicone compounds containing monofunctional siloxane chain (R3SiO1/2,M) co-hydrolysis polycondensation reaction of the three-dimensional spherical structure of silicone resin. It is generally believed that MQ silicone resin is a compact sphere with a double-layer structure, its core is cage-like silica with a high silicon-oxygen bond connection density and a polymerization degree of 15-50, and the spherical shell is a R3SiO1/2 layer with a low density. MQ silicone resin has many different types due to the different organic groups R on the spherical shell: when R is all methyl, it is called methyl MQ silicone resin or MQ silicone resin for short; When part R is vinyl, it is called methyl vinyl MQ silicone resin; When part R is H, it is called methyl hydrogen MQ silicone resin; there are methyl phenyl MQ silicone resin, vinyl MQ silicone resin, phenyl MQ silicone resin, fluorine-containing MQ silicone resin, MDQ, MTQ silicone resin, and the like.
Its structural formula is:(R3SiO1/2)m(SiO4/2)n,R is methyl, vinyl, hydrogen, phenyl, etc.

Characteristics of MQ silicone resin

Product application field
Silicone rubber reinforcing filler: MQ silicone resin is used as a reinforcing agent. Liquid silicone rubber products have certain mechanical strength and high transmittance, and good fluidity of the rubber before vulcanization;
Silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive reinforcement tackifier: adjust the cohesion, adhesion and initial adhesion;
Defoamer field: improve the high temperature resistance, strong alkali resistance and anti-foam performance of defoamer;
Mold release agent field: improve the demoulding durability of the release agent, and the demoulding effect of high adhesive resin (such as polyurethane, epoxy resin, etc.) is more ideal;
Waterproofing Agent Field: The structure of polysiloxane determines that silicone resin has hydrophobicity, and its contact angle with water is greater than 90 ° and is applied to waterproof materials.
Cosmetics field: as a surface protective coating, can eliminate the sticky silicone oil, improve the smoothness, scratch resistance, improve gloss;
